Gemini birthday bath salts (lavender/rose)

Ingredients:

epsom salt

Himalayan pink sea salt

dried lavender flowers

dried rosebuds

lavender essential oil

almond oil

contained air from a wind storm

Tools:

mini cauldron

selenite wand

green candle

an empty jar

the jar containing wild wind air

Step One: Prepare your space

Gather ingredients on the floor by your altar

I personally keep mine in a liminal space with a mirror

Light a green candle on the altar, open the window shades at dusk

Sit on the floor with the supplies

Meditate on Gemini

Meditate on intentions - friendship, wishes for peace, healing, joy, self-love for another year of my friend's life

Check that your space is filled with your energy, intentions, and good will.

Protect your space with a circle if necessary (if you feel an intrusion)

Call the quarters if necessary (if you feel tired or need inspiration)

Step Two: Make the lavender portion

Halfway fill your empty jar with epsom salt

Add 4 drops of lavender oil (quantity varies depending on size of your batch)

Add 8 drops of almond oil

Close the jar and shake, admiring the whirl of your thumb and the crash of salt within

Open and inhale - it'll smell strongly of magnesium still

Add 1 tablespoon (ish) lavender flowers

Shake again but you will notice the centripetal clustering of lavender in the middle

This is appropriate for gemini

With your salt jar open on the floor, quickly open your air jar and put it top-down over your salt jar

Holding the two jars opening on each other, turn them repeatedly up and down, blending all the ingredients from jar to jar.

You may find your end product now in your air jar

Revel in your work so far, inhale and enjoy

Feel gratitude in your heart for air and gemini

Step Three: Make the rose portion

In your remaining jar, fill it 3/8 full with pink salt

I recommend using your hand to put the pink salt in, transferring your energy and intentions to the salt through your touch

Take 4-5 rosebuds and peel off the petals, working them in your fingers to find natural breaking points to tear them into small fragments (about the size of lavender flowers)

Add these piece by piece to your pink salt, letting them fall on top without mixing

Add also some of the dried insides of the flower, whatever will come off with pressure

Keep the base of the buds/stems/remaining products for next step

Stir your pink salt/rose petal mix with your selenite wand until satisifed

Add your pink salt/rose mix on top of the lavender/epsom salt mix

Do not mix, keep the layers distinct

Close your jar and bring it up to your altar along with the rosebud remnants

Step Four: Finish your product (optional)

Add your rosebud remnants to your mini cauldron

Light them on fire with your green candle

Unseal your jar and use the lid to fan the smoke into your product, (some queer smirk allowed as you do this, all in good fun)

Seal your jar finally

For luck, let one drop of green wax fall in the center of the top of your jar, and press your left index finger into the hot wax

Clean up with a happy heart
